Physical Therapy went well #twit2fit

My return to physical therapy after the MRI results was better than I expected.  I’ve run 18 miles in the last four days and I’m more “motivated” to keep up with my physical therapy exercises.  We’re reducing the schedule down to 1 time per week, just to monitor progress.

I do, however, need to add a couple of my stretching routines back in.

I also woke up early this morning to do 3.0 miles in 29:30 (9’50″ pace).  Day 30 of the running streak, day 7 of the physical therapy exercise streak.

  • Progressive Long Run (16 miles) while watching the game #twit2fit #running One of the things that's great about football season is that you can easily do a long run on the treadmill while watching the game.  I did mine today at home on my Sole F80 at a 1% incline (watching the UofL-UK game). I've been doing my long runs at......
  • MRI results and streak day 24 #twit2fit Ok, so I had an MRI yesterday, and it shows that I have a bulging disc between L4 and L5.  Running doesn't hurt and things seem to be getting better, although slowly.  We'll see what physical therapy brings. I believe I'm going to be avoiding anything that resembles a sit-up......
  • Streak day 17 #twit2fit Nothing spectacular...  I decided to add "recovery" days into the streak.  Right now, I have them set at 2.5 miles on Tuesday and Thursday (beginning next week). 2.3 miles in 22'27" for 9'46" per mile, 2% incline.   I ran most of the run at 10'00" pace, with a 9'50"......
  • Streak day 16 #twit2fit 3.9 miles in 38'47" (9'57"/mile).  A little plantar fascia /arch pain in the left foot starting about 2.9 mile mark. I'm planning on converting my running plan to a 5% build-up to a 70 mile week for the week ending September 9, 2008.  That will be 9 weeks from the......
  • Brother, that's some determination - streak day 12 #twit2fit Normally, I don't like comments from people as I run by them while I'm running the neighborhoods, but that's usually because of the "Run, Forrest, Run" style comments.  It's probably part of the reason that I like running at 6:30 am.  Well, today was different.  A guy who was outside......
